SCHOOL COACHING FOR 2025
Sydney Basketball Coaching is currently running programs at Russell Lea Public School, St. Michaels Primary School at Lane Cove, St. Spyridon College (2 Championships in 2023) in Maroubra and a T.A.P. (Talented Athletes Program) program at Chatswood High School.

SYDNEY BASKETBALL COACHING TEAM
Head Coach Mark Handel
Originally from Philadelphia, Mark Handel has been coaching players from age 7 to 18 years and senior players for more than 25 years. He has coached at representative levels for Manly, City of Sydney, St George, JAAM Basketball and numerous other clubs. Mark was the Head Coach at Sacred Heart in Mosman, the Assistant Director of Basketball at Trinity Grammar in Summer Hill and has worked at numerous other schools at primary and secondary levels. He is currently the Head Basketball Coach at SCEGGS in Darlinghurst and St Spyridon in Maroubra. Of course Mark’s favourite NBA team is the 76ers!
Coach Jackson
Coach Jackson played collegiate basketball at Southern Oregon University. He has represented both state (NSW) and national teams including the New Zealand U19 team. He has worked closely with numerous representative players and now brings his vast basketball backgrounnd to S.B.C. Jackson also knows how to take a picture as a professional photographer.
Coach David
Coach David is an ex professional N.B.L. player. He has a vast background as a player, and a coach. His straight forward approrach is to make every player stronger by focusing on core fundamentals and strategies in every age bracket. David is also an accomplished musician.
Other S.B.C. Coaches
All of the Sydney Basketball Coaches hold valid WWC (Working with Children Checks) and are accredited. Each has a wealth of experience as players and coaches. Our core international group comes from around the world including the U.S.A., South America, Europe and of course, Australia. Their goal is to bring out the best in our young athletes by training and challenging them to strive for excellence.

Coach Nick
Coach Nick started his coaching career at Sydney Boys High with the 3rd and 4th teams. He’s coached players from 6-20 years of age and is passionate about seeing kids reach their full potential and learn skills that help them succceed in a game setting.
Coach Dwight
Coach Dwight is originally from Venezuela where he played professionally. He’s a passionate coach that is people driven. His high level focus is on detail and solid mechanics. Dwight is currently providing private and group training with S.B.C. You’ll also find him on weekends D.J.ing around the Sydney area.

Sibling discounts available. Cancellation Notice: Bookings cancelled 24 hours prior to schedule time will not incur a cancellation fee. Bookings cancelled the same day of the session will be charged at 50%. Bookings cancelled within 2 hours of the scheduled start time will incur a 100% fee charge.
